Leader Dogs for the Blind Puppy Raising
In Every Leader Dog Lies the Heart of a Lion
Since its founding by three Lions in 1939, Leader Dogs for the Blind and Lions Clubs have worked together to empower people who are blind or visually impaired with lifelong skills for independent travel. Rockford Noon Lions has a strong history of supporting Leader Dog financially and by members who answered the call to volunteer for the organization.
Members of Rockford Noon, to date, have raised twenty-oneFuture Leader Dogs. Lions Harold and Carol Owens are raising their thirteenth puppy Ripley, and Mary and Dennis Nelson are preparing to return FLD Honey, their seventh puppy, for training. Lion Kristine Baerresen recently raised Baery for the organization.
The Rockford Puppy Raising group meets monthly at the Center for Sight & Hearing for training and is also available to present information to your organization.
